Eugene Daniel O'Sullivan

Eugene Daniel O'Sullivan (born May 31, 1883 in Kent , Reno County , Kansas , † February 7, 1968 in Omaha , Nebraska ) was an American politician .

O'Sullivan was born on a cattle ranch in Kansas in 1883. He attended Christian Brothers College in St. Joseph , Missouri . After graduating there in 1903, he then attended St. Benedict's College in Atchison , Kansas from 1904 to 1905 . O'Sullivan then studied at the Law School of Creighton University in Omaha. He graduated in 1910, was admitted to the bar that same year and practiced as a lawyer in Omaha.

O'Sullivan, who was a member of the Democrats , was a delegate to the Democratic National Conventions of his party in 1924, 1928, 1932, 1940 and 1944 . In 1934 he tried unsuccessfully to be run as the Democratic candidate for gubernatorial elections in Nebraska. In the 1948 congressional elections, O'Sullivan was elected to the 81st Congress for his party  and represented there from January 3, 1949 to January 3, 1951, the state of Nebraska in the United States House of Representatives . In the next congressional election in 1950, he was unable to defend his seat and was defeated by Republican Howard Buffett . This had previously lost his seat to O'Sullivan in 1948.

O'Sullivan began practicing law again. He died in Omaha on February 7, 1968 and was buried in Calvary Cemetery .
