In the town of Ledeč nad Sázavou (German Ledetsch , older also Furwitz ) live 6410 inhabitants on 2211 hectares. The city is located in the Vysočina region in the Czech Republic .
history
The first written mention of the place comes from the 12th century. There is a report of the reign of Sigmund von Ledeč. During the Hussite period, the city was a supporter of the Kalixtines . The gentlemen of the city at that time signed a letter of complaint against the burning of Jan Hus . Because of the participation of the farmer Trčka from Lípa in the Waldstein conspiracy in 1634, the lands were confiscated and divided. Ledeč received the officer Adrian von Enkevort . He was followed by the Thun and Věžníkov families. In 1753, Empress Maria Theresa bought the city from Ignaz von Koch. She built a large court for impoverished aristocrats on the castle of the same name . From 1918 the state took over the administration.
