List of European women's handball championships

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of the women's handball European Cup winners includes all European handball clubs that have so far won at least one of the four European Cup competitions organized by the EHF or, until its founding, by the IHF since 1956 - the EHF Champions League (until 1993 European Champion’s Cup), won the European Cup Winners' Cup , the EHF Cup or the EHF Challenge Cup (up to 2000 Euro City Cup ). The EHF Champions Trophy , which is no longer held, is not included in this list, also known as the European Club Championship, as it was a competition comparable to a Supercup . All winners are listed in the first list. Another list gives all clubs with the respective total number of wins and the number of wins in the individual tournaments, and a third list shows the country ratings.

The most victories in the European Cup were achieved by Spartak Kiev with thirteen and Hypo Niederösterreich with nine. To date, no club has managed to win all four European Cup competitions at least once. The two aforementioned clubs and Győri ETO KC have so far managed to win a European Cup three times in a row, a so-called hat trick . In the European Champions Cup, Spartak Kiev triumphed twice and even four times in a row from 1970 to 1973 and from 1985 to 1988 and Hypo Niederösterreich also four times in a row from 1992 to 1995. TSC Berlin won three times in a row (1977, 1979 the European Cup) across several competitions the cup winners and the 1978 European Champion Clubs' Cup).
