List of number one hits in Italy (2014)
This list of number one hits is based on the official chart lists of the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI), the Italian national group of IFPI , in 2014. The album charts and the top digital single charts are taken into account .
In 2014, as in previous years, the Italian charts were influenced by the Sanremo Festival and the casting shows Amici and X Factor . The 2014 World Cup also favored a number one hit. The most successful song of the year was Bailando by Enrique Iglesias , the most successful album Sono innocente by Vasco Rossi . The development of the Italian music market as a whole was strongly influenced by streaming services , which were able to increase their market share by over 80% in 2014; therefore, streaming data was also included in the creation of the single charts for the first time. Mainly this enabled the market to grow by 4%.
Singles
In 2014 there were 17 number one hits in the Italian top digital charts, six of which reached the top straight away. Ten of the hits came from Italian performers who, with only one exception, sang in their own language. Until September 11th, the charts were pure download charts (top digital download) , since then streaming offers have also been taken into account, with 100 streams being equated with a download purchase. The awards for music sales (certificazioni) , however, have taken streaming into account since January 1st of that year.

Annual hit parades
While the Italian contributions predominated in the annual rating of the albums (seven out of ten), not a single song by an Italian performer made it into the top 10 of the annual singles charts ( Magnifico by Fedez and Francesca Michielin only reached 22nd place ). Four of the singles represented in the top 10 of the year were not number one hits, another (Let Her Go) was only last year; in the albums, however, only Modà 2004-2014: L'originale had not previously achieved a number one placement.
The German DJ Robin Schulz was the only performer to be twice in the top 10 of the year.
