Rhein-Neckar district

There are symbols and colors in the coats of arms of the places in the Rhein-Neckar-Kreis that appear more frequently. They refer to historical power relations. The Palatinate lion and the silver-blue diamonds of the Electoral Palatinate are particularly common . Also worth mentioning are the cut silver cross in blue from the Hochstift Speyer and the silver key from the Hochstift Worms . Former imperial cities use the imperial eagle . In several municipalities borrowings from the coats of arms of local noble families can be found, such as the Venningen lily rods , the stag stag from the Hirschberger or the blue-gold colors of the lords of Gemmingen . Although all the places of today's Rhein-Neckar-Kreis belonged to Baden from 1806 , the red and gold colors are rarely found.
