  • Friedrich Hölderlin (1770–1843), poet; As the stepson of the mayor of Nürtingen, Johann Christoph Gock, spent his childhood and youth in Nürtingen and attended the Nürtingen Latin School .
  • Friedrich Schelling (1775–1854), philosopher; attended the Latin school in Nürtingen.
  • Friedrich Wilhelm von Fischer (1779–1836) was senior bailiff in Nürtingen from 1824 to 1836 and member of the state parliament from 1819 to 1825.
  • Eduard Mörike (1804–1875), poet and pastor; worked as a vicar in various positions in the area around Nürtingen and lived in the city for some time.
