Since Bottrop is not on a long-distance route, the next long-distance train stations are Essen Hbf and Oberhausen Hbf .

Regional traffic

Bottrop's most important train station is the main train station . However, this is not in the city center, but a few kilometers south of this near the federal highway 42 . In addition to the main train station, Bottrop has the stations Bottrop-Vonderort , Bottrop-Boy and Feldhausen .
