coat of arms

Hammerstein coat of arms
Blazon : "Three slanted, 2: 1 arranged silver hammers in red."
Justification of the coat of arms: The three hammers correspond to the coat of arms of the former burgraves of Hammerstein , whose territory included the towns of Niederhammerstein and Oberhammerstein, today the municipality of Hammerstein. The color scheme, which is different from the coat of arms of the castle count (red hammers in gold), is reminiscent of the Electorate's red coat of arms in silver.

The municipality has had the coat of arms since 1946.
