Frasdorf is a municipality and a village in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim at the foot of the western Chiemgau Alps with the districts of Wildenwart , Leitenberg, Frasdorf and Umrathshausen . The resort has its own access and exit to the A 8 , which connects Munich with Salzburg .

Geographical location

The place Frasdorf is located directly on the federal highway 8 with its own junction, a noise protection wall protects the settlement from excessive noise pollution. After München it 78 km, by Rosenheim km 20, after Prien am Chiemsee eight kilometers away, Traunstein km 32, after Salzburg 63 km and after Kufstein 34 km (about Sachrang ) and 45 km (about Bundesautobahn 93 ). The next train station is at Umrathshausen about 3.5 km from Frasdorf.

Frasdorf is connected to the regional traffic of Upper Bavaria (RVO) with two bus lines . Lines 9494 and 9496 have connections to Rosenheim , Rohrdorf , Aschau im Chiemgau , Prien am Chiemsee , Söllhuben , Riedering and Stephanskirchen .

Until the church is planted

Frasdorf was first mentioned in 1135 as Fradelsdorf . Before 1800, Wildenwart, Frasdorf and Umrathshausen belonged to the Wildenwart rule, which was endowed with high jurisdiction , or to the Hohenaschau rule connected with it . In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818, Frasdorf became an independent political municipality.

Incorporations

In 1857 the community of Walterting was incorporated into Frasdorf. Territory parts of the dissolved communities Wildenwart and Umrathshausen were incorporated in the course of the municipal reform on May 1, 1978.

Population development

Between 1988 and 2018 the municipality grew from 2,508 to 3,099 by 591 inhabitants or by 23.6%.

coat of arms

The coat of arms is officially emblazoned as follows: divided; above three times split by blue and silver, below a silver dragon on a red field.

The threefold division of blue and silver points to the noble family of Gundrichinger, who lived in the Ginnerting district. The Frasdorf parish church, documented as early as the 12th century, is consecrated to St. Margaretha. Their attribute, the dragon, symbolizes this in the coat of arms.

Culture and sights

The four Frasdorf churches are worth seeing: Holy Blood in Umrathshausen, the Christ the King's Church in Wildenwart and St. Margaretha in the center, as well as the Gothic pilgrimage church of St. Florian with its baroque well chapel. The karst area " Laubenstein " with its caves is significant in terms of landscape . A local history and culture association, a cave museum and a village museum are located in Frasdorf.

The castle gamekeeper is above the Valley of Prien.
