St. Kitts and Nevis took at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta for the first time at the Olympic Games in part. The team consisted of ten athletes, four of whom were male and six were female. They competed in five athletics competitions. The youngest participant was Kim Collins at 20 years and 113 days, the oldest was Ricardo Liddie at 30 years and 179 days. During the opening ceremony on July 19, 1996, Diane Francis carried the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis into the Olympic Stadium .
