The men's 10 km sprint in biathlon at the 2006 Winter Olympics was held on February 14, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. in the Centro Olimpico Biathlon in Cesana Torinese . A total of 90 athletes from 36 nations took part. Michael Greis from Germany won the gold medal . The silver medal went to the Norwegian Halvard Hanevold ahead of his compatriot Frode Andresen .

The Austrians Wolfgang Perner and Wolfgang Rottmann were disqualified by the IOC for violating the doping regulations .
