history

A first written mention comes from the year 1586, when Petru Moises, Matei Iosilea and Nicolae Lakzagh were the landlords. At that time the place had the Hungarian name Karpatuk . On the Josephine land survey of 1717, the place Waliaboul is registered with 60 houses. After the Peace of Passarowitz (1718) the village was part of the Habsburg crown domain Temescher Banat .

In 1803 the village belonged to the feudal lord Marcu Mihajlovics. In 1848 it was completely burned down while fighting the imperial troops . After the 1948 revolution , the village was owned by Ileana Suplaiszky. Afterwards Hedvig Bosz was the landlord until the agrarian reform of 1945 .

As a result of the Austro-Hungarian Compromise (1867), the Banat was annexed to the Kingdom of Hungary within the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary . The official place name was Ökbodatak .

The Treaty of Trianon on June 4, 1920 resulted in the Banat being divided into three parts , whereby Valea Boului fell to the Kingdom of Romania .

In the interwar period the village belonged to the Sacul chair district, Severin district. Until the administrative reform of 1964, Valea Boului was the place name. Since then, Păltiniș has been the official place name.
