The Silpakorn University ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย ศิลปากร , RTGS Mahawitthayalai Sinlapakon [ sǐnlápaːkɔːn ] English Silpakorn University , in short, SU, translated "University of Fine Arts") is a public university in Bangkok . The university was founded in 1943 at the suggestion of the Italian - Thai artist Corrado Feroci, who as a Thai citizen carried the name of Silpa Bhirasri .
Silpakorn University is the nation's leading university in the fields of archeology and the fine arts , although many other faculties have been added to this day.
history
In 1939 Mom Luang Pin Malakula founded the Pranete Silpakam School on the grounds of the Tha Pra Palace . Four years later, in the middle of World War II , it became Thailand's third state university.
In 1968 the university received permission to offer additional courses. This led to the establishment of the campus in Nakhon Pathom, east of Highway 321.
