mode
First, the clubs from the 32 worst-placed associations played 10 participants in a qualifying round for the main round, in which 22 other clubs were added. The games of the main round up to and including the semi-finals were played in home and return legs. The team that scored more goals in both games advanced to the next round. If both teams scored the same number of goals, the number of away goals decided. If the number of away goals was the same, the second leg was extended. If both teams scored the same number of goals in extra time, the away team won due to the more goals scored away. If no goals were scored, the match was decided on penalties.
