Hiking trails in the Bergisches Land
The Bergisches Land hiking area is characterized by rolling hills. The Bergisches Land is predominantly divided into small parts, there are only a few larger contiguous forest areas. Meadows and forests alternate.
List of hiking trails
The list shows the main hiking trails in the hiking maps of the State Surveyor's Office in North Rhine-Westphalia. Most of these are signposted by the Sauerland Mountain Association . In the Cologne area partly also from the Cologne Eifelverein .
The hiking trails marked with an X denote multi-day tours. The paths marked with > denote day tours (around 25–35 km). The day tours were originally designed as a long-distance hike beginning and ending at a train station. However, due to the closure of railway lines and stations, this is no longer always the case today.
