Mario He (also Yi Tong He ; born August 3, 1993 ) is an Austrian pool player from Rankweil . He was European champion in the 8-ball discipline in 2012 .

Career

Mario He won his first national youth title in 2006 in 9-Ball in the Knirpse age group , in which he won two more titles in 2007. In 2007 he also won his first of six Austrian championship titles among the students.

In February 2009 he made it into the finals of a Euro Tour tournament for the first time at the French Open . After victories against Christian Reimering , Jonni Fulcher and Ralf Souquet , he finally made it to the final, in which he lost 4: 9 to the Dutchman Niels Feijen . Two months later he reached the semi-finals in 9-ball at the men's European championship , to which he was nominated for the first time that year, but lost it 6: 9 against eventual European champion Nick van den Berg . After placing 33rd at the China Open and seventeenth at the Qatar World Open, he won his first medals in an individual competition for youth in August 2009 with bronze in 14/1 endless and in 9-ball students. After he was eliminated in the semifinals of the 14/1 endless competition against Nick van den Berg, he made it into the final in 8-Ball after victories against Petri Makkonen and Francisco Díaz-Pizarro , in which he won 8-0 against the Ukrainian Artem Koshovyi became European champion. In the 9-ball World Cup 2012 , he again reached the Round of 64. In October 2017 he reached the round of 16 at the American Straight Pool Championship and 25th place again at the US Open . A little later he lost his fourth Euro Tour final at the Treviso Open 2017 with 1: 9 against the 16-year-old Poland Wiktor Zieliński .

After a positive doping control in October of that year, the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) issued a four-month ban on the 25-year-old in December 2018 .

With the Pool Players Club Rankweil , Mario He came second in the 2007/08 Bundesliga season . After the relegation of the Pool Players in the 2008/09 season , he moved to Pool X-Press Innsbruck , with whom he became Austrian champion in the 2009/10 season . He then played two seasons with the second division club BSV Break Feldkirch , before returning to Pool X-Press Innsbruck in 2012, where he was runner-up in 2013 and Austrian champion in 2014 and 2015 . After the Bundesliga team of Pool X-Press was canceled, He switched to CAP Hörbranz , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga as a regional league champion in the 2015/16 season .
