Bonneval ( Occitan Bonaval ) is a French commune with 70 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It is located in the department of Haute-Loire in the region Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (before 2016 Auvergne ) and belongs to Arrondissement Brioude and the Canton Plateau du Haut-Velay granitique (2015 La Chaise-Dieu ).

Bonneval is about 32 kilometers north-northwest of Le Puy-en-Velay . Bonneval is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Malvières in the north, Saint-Victor-sur-Arlanc in the northeast, Jullianges in the east, Félines in the south and southeast, Sembadel in the south and southwest and La Chaise-Dieu in the west.
