Bouyei (people)
The Bouyei (official spelling of the PR China: Buyei ; own name: Buxqyaix [ pu ʔjai ]; Chinese 布依族 , Pinyin Bùyīzú ) are an ethnic minority that lives mainly in the Guizhou Province in the south of the People's Republic of China . In the 2010 census, 2,871,825 Bouyei were counted. But you also live in Vietnam . Her mother tongue is the bouyei of the same name .
They are known for traditionally building their houses, including the roof, entirely of stone, contrary to the wood and stilt construction that is common in southern China and the ethnic groups of the Tai Kadai language family.
Their categorization as a separate people is somewhat controversial outside of China. There is a dialect continuum between their language and the language of the Zhuang . As a separation between Zhuang and Bouyei, the border between Guizhou and Guangxi was initially defined. But now there are also bouyei in Guangdong and Guangxi.
