Breitenau is a district of the town of Feuchtwangen in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .
geography
The parish village is located in the valley on a left tributary of the Wörnitz in the middle of the Sulzachrand Heights, which are part of the Frankenhöhe . Approx. The Schlossberg ( 520 m above sea level ) rises 0.5 km to the north and the Mühlberg ( 527 m above sea level ) approx. 0.5 km south , both of which are wooded hills. The place is immediately surrounded by grassland with isolated trees and arable land.
The district road AN 36 leads to Gehrenberg (2.1 km east) or Zumhaus (1.1 km west). Municipal roads lead to Zischendorf (km Lich), to Ungetsheimer Mühle to AN 5 (1.5 km south) and to Dorfgütingen to the B 25 (2.7 km east).
history
Breitenau was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . Originally the lords of Geyer ( imperial counts from 1685 ) were the landlords . With their extinction in 1708 her entire estate fell by the Prussian King Frederick I . In 1729 the Kingdom of Prussia left this to Brandenburg-Ansbach .
In 1732 there were 36 properties (1 farm with business and brewing rights, 2 half farms, 7 Köblersgüter, 21 Sölden houses , 1 Sölden house with bath room, 3 Sölden houses with baking rights, 1 Sölden house with forge). In church buildings there was 1 church (Protestant) with cemetery and 1 parsonage, in parish buildings there was 1 schoolhouse and 1 shepherd's house. The village and township government had the box office Feuchtwangen held, which is also the sole landlord was over all property. By the end of the Old Kingdom nothing had changed in the circumstances. From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .
In 1806 Breitenau came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict (early 19th century), the tax district Breitenau was formed, to the Banderbach, Banzenweiler , Bieberbach , Eulenhof , Gehrenberg , Georgenhof , Krebshof , Krobshausen , Oberransbach , Ratzendorf , Sperbersbach , Unterransbach , Unterrothmühle , Weiler am See , Zischendorf and Zumhaus belonged. A little later, which was Rural municipality Breitenau made to the Eulenhof, Gehrenberg, Ratzendorf, Sperber Bach, Ungetsheim , Ungetsheimer mill , Zischendorf and Zumhaus belonged. It was subject to the Feuchtwangen Regional Court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 15,543 km². In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria (January 1, 1972) these were incorporated into Feuchtwangen.
The church was built on the site of the abandoned Breitenau Castle.
