The Critics' Choice Television Award in the category Best Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries (Original name: Best Actor in a Movie / Miniseries ) is one of the awards , held annually in the United States by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association , an association of television critics , be awarded. It is aimed at actors who have excelled in a leading role in a television movie or mini-series . The category was launched in 2012. The winners will be determined in a secret vote by the association's television critics.
History and records
Since the second award, the Broadcast Television Journalists Association has awarded a total of seven awards in the Best Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries category to seven different actors. The first to win was Benedict Cumberbatch , who was honored in 2012 for his role as Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock . The last winner so far was Ewan McGregor , who was honored in 2018 for his roles as Emmit and Ray Stussy in Fargo .
