The Critics' Choice Television Award in the category Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries (Original name: Best Actress in a Movie / Miniseries ) is one of the awards , held annually in the United States by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association , an association of television critics , be awarded. It is aimed at actresses who have excelled in a leading role in a television movie or mini-series . The category was launched in 2012. The winners will be determined in a secret vote by the association's television critics.

History and records

Since the second award, the Broadcast Television Journalists Association has awarded a total of seven awards in the Best Actress category in a television film or mini-series to seven different actresses. The first winner was Julianne Moore , who was honored in 2012 for her role as Sarah Palin in Game Change - The Sarah Palin Effect . The last recipient so far was Nicole Kidman , who was honored in 2018 for her role as Celeste Wright in Big Little Lies .
