Dernbach is a municipality in the Neuwied district in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate . She belongs to the Verbandsgemeinde Puderbach . Dernbach is a state-approved resort .
geography
The place is in the east sloping valley of the Dernbach, which rises here, with a series of tributaries. The Märkerwald borders in the south and west . The town of Dierdorf is four kilometers to the east. In terms of nature , the municipality belongs to the Sayn-Wied plateau in the Westerwald . Two kilometers to the west is the Dernbacher Kopf ( 427 m above sea level ), the highest elevation in the lower Westerwald. The residential areas Haus Beulseck and Steinbacher Hof belong to Dernbach .

Dernbach belonged to the county of Wied until the beginning of the 19th century and was subject to the jurisdiction of the parish of Urbach .

The description of the coat of arms reads: "In red three silver, vertically positioned forest hooks ( wolf fishing hooks ), above the middle one a silver rose with a golden clasp."
The coat of arms seal from 1411 and 1429 of the knight Hermann von Dernbach from the local aristocratic family living here, mentioned around 1300 to 1472, shows three wolf angels and a rose. The coat of arms has been legally valid since June 6, 1973.

On a hill near the village of Dernbach is the " Kaisereiche Natural Monument ". From a height of 345 m there is a view far beyond the Puderbacher Land.

The most famous personalities of the village are the Ludolfs , made famous by a docu-soap on the television station DMAX . Uwe, Horst-Günter († January 31, 2011), Peter and Manfred Ludolf are the owners of an unusual junkyard or a car parts recycling facility and enjoy a large fan base across Europe.
