Course and resolutions

The welcoming speeches were given by the federal chairman Franz Blücher , the state chairman Thomas Dehler and, as a representative of the Bavarian state parliament, Alois Hundhammer ( CSU ).

At the party congress, the deputy state chairman of the FDP North Rhine-Westphalia, Hans Albrecht Freiherr von Rechenberg, unsuccessfully stood as an opposing candidate for Franz Blücher in the election of the federal chairman. The result of the vote was 153 to 91 votes.

The party congress passed resolutions on the amnesty of war criminals and on the restructuring of the federal territory . In addition, there was a clear rejection of employee participation . While the Bavarian state chairman Thomas Dehler denied the trade unions' economic expertise , the moderate forces around Hermann Schäfer argued for the independence and freedom of association of the unions.

Discussions continued about a review of the electoral systems for the Bundestag and state parliaments, the establishment of a party newspaper, a resolution on the commitment of the FDP to a unitary state structure, the elaboration of a party program, the reintroduction of the Deutschlandlied as the national anthem , the position of housing construction, various economic issues and the Denazification . There were submissions from the expellees committee, the transport committee and the financial policy committee (introduction of the federal tax administration, registration of tax evaders).
