The Forest County is a county in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 , the county had 9,304 residents and a population density of 3.5 people per square kilometer. The county seat is Crandon , named after Major Frank P. Crandon , a railroad pioneer.

As of the 2010 census , Forest County had 9,304 people in 3,853 households. The population density was 3.5 people per square kilometer. Statistically, 2.35 people lived in each of the 3853 households.
The racial the population was composed of 82.3 percent white, 1.0 percent African American, 13.8 percent Native American, 0.2 percent Asian, 0.1 percent Polynesian and other ethnic groups; 2.6 percent were descended from two or more races. 21.5 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 57.2 percent were between 18 and 64 and 21.3 percent were 65 years or older. 49.0 percent of the population was female.

The significantly higher proportion of Indian population compared to the national average is due to the two Indian reservations Forest County Potawatomi Community of the Potawatomi and Sokaogon Chippewa Community of the Anishinabe .
