The Kabhrepalanchok District is one of the 77 districts in Nepal . Its main town is Dhulikhel in the Bagmati administrative zone .

The 1396 km² district is located east of the Kathmandu valley .

The district is divided into 90 Village Development Committees (VDCs) and four cities (municipalities), namely Dhulikhel, Banepa , Panauti and Panchkhal , all in the west of the district. Another important place is Dolalghat .

Residents

According to the last census in 2011, the district had 381,937 inhabitants and the population density was 293 people / km².

Infrastructure

The Araniko Highway , an important highway from Kathmandu to the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge on the border with the Tibet Autonomous Region , runs through Kabhrepalanchok . Another road from Dhulikhel to the southeast into the Terai is nearing completion.
