- February 28 to March 31 : The exhibition of ancient Japanese art takes place in the Staatliche Museen Berlin under the patronage of Hermann Göring and Hiranuma Kiichirō . On this occasion, Japan is showing almost 30 national treasures in Berlin , i.e. objects of art that are actually not allowed to be taken out of the country. Adolf Hitler and numerous functionaries of the Nazi regime are personally present at the opening.
- March 20 : In the courtyard of the main fire station in Berlin-Kreuzberg , thousands of works of art from public collections that were ostracized by the National Socialists as degenerate art are burned.
- The Constantin Meunier Museum in Ixelles in the Brussels region, dedicated to the Belgian sculptor and painter Constantin Meunier , opens.
