This list shows the bearers of the Brandenburg Order of Merit . The award was first presented on June 14, 2005 . The Prime Minister of the State of Brandenburg is ex officio holder of the Order of Merit. Based on an earlier Prussian award, the order is sometimes referred to as the Red Eagle Order .
