Losowa ( Ukrainian Лозова ; Russian Лозовая Losowaja ) is a city in Ukraine in the Kharkiv Oblast with 57,000 inhabitants (2015).
It is the center of the Rajons lozova and divided addition to the actual city is still in the urban-type settlement Panjutyne and villages Chlibne ( Хлібне ) Domacha ( Домаха ) Hersewaniwske ( Герсеванівське ) Lissiwske ( Лісівське ) and Ukrajinske ( Українське ) until 2016 Dymytrowa / Димитрова .
geography
Losowa is located at an altitude of 189 m on the bank of the Brytaj ( Бритай ), an 84 km long tributary of the Bereka , about 120 km south of the Kharkiv Oblast center . Territorial roads T-21-07 and T-21-13 run through the city .
history
The town, founded in 1639, was granted city rights in 1869. As early as 1869, a station was opened on the Sevastopol – Kharkiv railway line , and further lines were later opened , making the city an important railway hub in the oblast.
On October 27, 2008, there was an explosion in a military depot, but no injuries or deaths were reported.
