The Tinne / Nehder Kopf nature reserve with a size of 187.20 hectares is located south or south-east of Alme in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the landscape plan of the Brilon plateau . The NSG belongs to the FFH area Forests and Sources of the Almetal (DE 4517-301). At one point the NSG borders directly on the outskirts of Alme.

In the NSG, the old species-rich beech forests with rocks and alpine springs are to be protected and optimized. As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
