Peter de Klerk (born March 16, 1935 in Pilgrim's Rest , Transvaal , † July 11, 2015 in Johannesburg ) was a South African racing driver .

Career

The former car mechanic Peter de Klerk started after a long stay in England in a total of four races of the automobile world championship in the seasons 1963 , 1965 , 1969 and 1970 . He drove this one Alfa Romeo Special and Brabham - Repco . In 1970 he started with a Brabham- Cosworth , which was privately owned. Each of his starts took place at the South African Grand Prix for a South African team. First, he appeared twice for the Otelle Nucci team. In 1969 he drove for Jack Holme and in 1970 for the Gunston team . His best ranking was 10th in 1965.

Until the 1980s he took part in sports car races .
