The Players Tour Championship 2010/11 - Event 4 was a snooker tournament that took place from August 14th to 16th, 2010 at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield . Only one week after the third tournament and for the fourth time within two months, professionals and amateurs were able to play for money and points in the Players Tour Championship (PTC).
Barry Pinches reached the final for the second time, but this time, unlike in the second PTC tournament, he managed a 4-3 victory and thus his first tournament victory in his Main Tour career. His final opponent was the world number three Ronnie O'Sullivan .
93 professional players was the highest number of registrations to date. They faced 78 amateurs. Therefore, two qualifying rounds had to be played again. However, since these were held again a few weeks earlier, namely on July 25, there was a record cancellation of 14 amateurs.
The PTC tournaments usually started on Friday, but this time the tournament was played from Saturday for the first time. The first half of the 128 participants had their first three rounds on August 14th, the second half on August 15th. On Monday, August 16, the remaining rounds from the round of 16 to the final were played.
Ronnie O'Sullivan had the better start in the final and extended his lead to 3: 1 with high breaks. But Barry Pinches had even seen in the final of the penultimate tournament how a lead can turn. After the 2: 3 connection, he equalized in a contested sixth frame. In the decision-making frame, he kept his nerve and secured victory and his first title on the Main Tour with his highest break.
