Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer is located about 22 kilometers northwest of Bayeux and about 42 kilometers north-northeast of Saint-Lô on the English Channel coast . Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Colleville-sur-Mer in the east and south-east, Formigny La Bataille in the south and Vierville-sur-Mer in the west and north-west.

history

The coast at Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer is part of the coastline of Omaha Beach . On June 6, 1944, the Allied landings in Normandy began here.
