Chouain is a French municipality with 224 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region Normandy (before 2016 Basse-Normandie ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bayeux and the canton of Bayeux ( Balleroy until 2015 ).

geography

Chouain is located about eleven kilometers south-southeast of the city center of Bayeux am Seulles , which forms the eastern municipal border. Chouain is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Condé-sur-Seulles in the north, Ducy-Sainte-Marguerite in the northeast, Audrieu in the east, Bucéels in the south and Juaye-Mondaye in the west.
