Vaux-sur-Aure is a French municipality with 336 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Calvados in the region of Normandy ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Bayeux and the canton of Bayeux (until 2015: Canton Ryes ). The inhabitants are called Vallonnais .
geography
Vaux-sur-Aure is about three kilometers north of Bayeux city center on the Aure River . Vaux-sur-Aure is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Longues-sur-Mer in the north, Saint-Vigor-le-Grand in the east and south-east, Bayeux in the south, Vaucelles in the south-west, Sully and Maisons in the west and Commes in the north-west.

Community partnerships
A partnership has existed with the Sotome district of the Japanese city of Nagasaki since 1978. Sotome was incorporated into Nagasaki in 2005. Nagasaki has been a partner church ever since.
