Aure sur Mer is a French commune with 739 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Calvados department in the Normandy region . It belongs there to the canton of Trévières in the Arrondissement of Bayeux .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2017 by merging the previous municipalities of Russy and Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes . These exercise the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are located in Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes.

geography

The municipality is located immediately south of the English Channel and is surrounded by Colleville-sur-Mer in the west and Port-en-Bessin-Huppain in the east. The neighboring communities of Russy are Port-en-Bessin-Huppain (former point of contact) in the northeast, Étréham in the east, Mosles in the south, Surrain in the west and Colleville-sur-Mer in the northwest.
