Sallen is a commune in the department of Calvados in the region Normandy (before 2016 Basse-Normandie ) with 302 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017). Sallen belongs to the Arrondissement of Bayeux and the canton of Trévières ( Caumont-l'Éventé until 2015 ).
Sallen is about 33 kilometers south-southwest of Bayeux . Sallen is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cormolain in the north and north-west, Planquery in the north and north-east, Foulognes in the east and north-east, Caumont-sur-Aure in the south and east, Saint-Jean-d'Elle in the south-west and Montrabot in the west and south-west.
