Sebastian "Wastl" Huber (born June 26, 1901 in Füssen ; † March 6, 1985 there ) was a German bobsleigh driver . He won two Olympic medals and was world champion twice.

Career

Sebastian Huber was Hanns Kilian's pusher for several years at SC Riessersee . He first took part in the Olympic Games in St. Moritz in 1928. In the five-man bobsleigh with Hanns Kilian, Valentin Krempl , Hans Heß , Sebastian Huber and Hans Nägle , he won the bronze medal behind the bobsleighs from the United States. In 1930 Kilian and Huber won their first German championship title in the two-man bobsleigh . In the following year, the two became German champions in the four-man bobsleigh with Fritz Schwarz and Hans Jocher . In 1931, a bobsleigh world championship in the two-man bobsleigh was held in Oberhof for the first time , and Kilian won the title together with Sebastian Huber. At the Olympic Games in Lake Placid in 1932, the two-man and four-man bobsleigh competitions that are still common today were held for the first time. Kilian and Huber took fifth place with the two-man bobsleigh, with the four-man bobsleigh in the line-up of Kilian, Max Ludwig , Hans Mehlhorn and Huber, they again won bronze behind two US bobsleighs.

In 1934 the bobsleigh world championship in four-man bobsleigh took place on Kilian's house track in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Kilian won the title together with Fritz Schwarz, Hermann von Valta and Sebastian Huber. The following year, Alexander Gruber was in the bobsleigh instead of Sebastian Huber . At the Olympic Games in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1936 , Huber was there again, but Kilian only took seventh place.
