The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill is a folk song the Beatles . He was first published in November 1968 by the label Apple on the album The Beatles , also known as the White Album .

Authorship and Inspiration

The copyright for The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill , like almost all Beatles songs , is owned by Lennon / McCartney . Written but it was of John Lennon . He composed it at the beginning of 1968 in the ashram of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Rishikesh, India, where the Beatles wanted to learn the Transcendental Meditation .

The text is inspired by Richard "Rikki" A. Cooke III, who was also staying at the ashram with his mother Nancy. During his time in India, Cooke shot a tiger , which Lennon found inappropriately destructive and therefore wrote the derisive text about the hunting mothers son Bungalow Bill - a play on words related to Buffalo Bill .

The Beatles recorded The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill on October 8, 1968 at Abbey Road Studios . They needed a total of three takes for this , later supplemented by several overdubs .
