The West Indies cricket team's tour to Australia in the 1996/97 season took place from November 22, 1996 to February 3, 1997. The international cricket tour was part of the 1996/97 international cricket season and comprised five tests . Australia won the series 3–2.

prehistory

Australia previously played a three-nation tournament in India , for the West Indies it was the first tour of the season. The last meeting of the two teams on a tour took place in the 1995/96 season in Australia . During the test series, the Carlton & United Series 1996/97 was played, in which Pakistan was represented in addition to the two teams .
