history

The division was formed on September 8, 1916 from the "Franke Division" and was initially deployed on the Western Front until the end of March 1917 . Then they were transferred to the Romanian front . After the armistice there, the association came by sea to the Ukraine , where parts of the war remained until March 1919. This was followed by demobilization in Leipzig .
