83rd Division (German Empire)
The 83rd Division was a major unit of the Prussian army in the First World War .
history
The division was formed from units from the Posen Fortress in October 1914 after the outbreak of World War I and was deployed on the Eastern Front until mid-March 1918 . Then she was transferred to the West , where she participated in the fighting there until the end of the war. After the armistice , the remnants of the division marched back home, where the large unit was demobilized and finally dissolved on January 27, 1919.
