The division was formed in 1859 for the duration of mobilization on the occasion of the Sardinian War . Even for the duration of the war against France , the large association was again mobile in 1870/71. Formed again as part of the mobilization at the beginning of World War I , the division was initially deployed on the Western Front and moved to the Eastern Front at the end of October 1914 . It remained there after the Peace of Brest-Litovsk and was finally dissolved on April 4, 1918.
