history

The division was originally to be set up as a Württemberg formation. By order of the Ministry of War No. 2610, 15 A 1 of February 9, 1915 and No. 2936, 15 A 1 it became Bavarian. The personnel, which consisted mostly of members of the Landwehr , was used exclusively on the western front in the area of ​​the Vosges to secure Alsace-Lorraine . After the end of the war, the large association was demobilized and finally dissolved in January 1919.

The division was classified as third class by the Allied reconnaissance .
