The 226th Division was a major unit of the Prussian army within the German Army in the First World War .

history

The division was formed on November 25, 1916 on the Eastern Front and was in service there until the end of the First World War. After the end of the war, together with Army Group Mackensen , she started the march back home from the Balkans via Hungary . There the demobilization and eventual dissolution took place.
