history
In August 1914 it was originally set up as the "Rekowski" provisional brigade . On October 2, 1914, the association was expanded to form the "Rekowski" division and, from December 8, 1914, it was run as the 39th Reserve Division . Since the division consisted for the most part of Bavarian associations, it was renamed the Royal Bavarian 39th Reserve Division on February 4, 1916 and the newly formed XV. Subordinate to Reserve Corps .
After the armistice in Compiègne , the remnants of the division marched back home via Schönau and Tübingen , where they were demobilized and finally dissolved.
