Ammeldingen bei Neuerburg is a municipality in the Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of southern Eifel .

geography

Ammeldingen near Neuerburg is on the edge of the South Eifel nature park . The hamlets of Grimbach and Kleinweis as well as the residential areas Auf Kemigt and Hof Sauerwies also belong to the community .

history

It was first mentioned in a document in 1336. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops , the place became French, in 1815 it was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . The St. Parish church consecrated to Isidore was built in 1896. After the First World War temporarily occupied by the French, the place has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 .
