Traces of the place go back to the 13th century. Until the annexation by French revolutionary troops 1794/95 Plascheid part of the basic rule of county Vianden in Duchy of Luxembourg and was the seat of a dairy farm with the places Berkoth , Burscheid , Itzfelderhof, Fischbach , Heilenbach , Alferhof, Wehrshausen, Windhausen, chafing , Altscheuern and Uppershausen . In 1815, Plascheid was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia at the Congress of Vienna . After the First World War temporarily occupied by the French , the place has been part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate since 1946 .

coat of arms
Blazon : "Under the shield head supported by a silver-black-silver bar, silver over green by a tin cut, with a red double flank silver, inside a black wayside cross with base, tapered shaft and framed high cross." | |
Justification of the coat of arms: The three battlements in the shield head refer to three distinctive multi-storey houses that were important on the Piescheider Höhe for centuries. The green indicates agriculture and forestry, which were both key elements in the Piescheider's livelihood. The main field shows the colors red - silver - red. A cross is shown in the silver heart post. It stands on the way to Neuerburg and bears the inscription HENERIKUS ROPPES VON PLASCHET 1762. The colors red - silver - red indicate the county of Vianden, the stripe in silver - black - silver to the rule of Neuerburg. For a long time Plascheid was the seat of a dairy farm under these houses. |
