Angles is a French village with 2,816 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Les Sables d'Olonne and the canton of Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais . The inhabitants are called Anglois .
geography
Angles is located near the coast of the Bay of Biscay , the so-called Côte de Lumière (the coast of light ). The Canal des Bourasses runs through the municipality . The river Lay limits the municipality to the east. Angles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Jonchère in the north, Saint-Benoist-sur-Mer in the northeast, Grues in the east and southeast, La Tranche-sur-Mer in the south and Longeville-sur-Mer in the west.
The former Route nationale 747 runs through the municipality .
