history
The diocese of Segorbe-Castellón de la Plana was established in the 6th century as the diocese of Segorbe . On March 18, 1258, the Diocese of Albarracín was attached to the diocese of Segorbe. The diocese Segorbe-Albarracín was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Valencia as a suffragan on July 9, 1492 . On July 21, 1577 the diocese of Segorbe-Albarracín was divided into the dioceses of Segorbe and Albarracín . The diocese of Segorbe was renamed the Diocese of Segorbe-Castellón de la Plana on May 31, 1960 .
