Cars is a French commune with 1,187 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement Blaye and the canton L'Estuaire (until 2015: canton Blaye ).
geography
Cars is located near the estuary of the Gironde , about 32 kilometers north of Bordeaux . The river Bourdillot crosses the municipality. Cars is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Paul in the north and north-east, Berson in the east, Plassac in the south, Blaye in the west and Saint-Martin-Lacaussade in the west and north-west.
